Debutante Scholarship Program

Become a sponsor for the 40th Debutante Cotillion

Over the past 39 years, more than 300 outstanding young ladies from the Clarksville/Fort Campbell area have received benefits from their varied experiences as debutantes. Over $200,000 has been raised and awarded in scholarships. In addition, each debutante has had opportunities that enhanced their self-actualization, empowerment and commitment to make a difference in the world.

The debutante activities have included activities such as: Mother/Daughter teas, college tours, workshops for SAT and ACT preparations, college fairs, career seminars and financial workshops. The debutantes have attended church services, plays, ballets, as well as etiquette and charm sessions. They have participated in the Martin Luther King Day Celebration and attended the Nashville Symphony Concerts. The debutantes have also displayed leadership and commitment by developing and executing community service projects and supporting worthy causes.

Throughout its history, the debutante season has culminated with an elegant cotillion in which a queen is crowned. From the first queen, Miss Tanis Johnson, to the current queen, Miss Analiese Poe, these regal young ladies reigned with dignity, diligence and distinction. Additional titles of “Miss Fortitude” and Miss Congeniality” are also bestowed on two young ladies who exemplify friendliness, fearless leadership and respect.

Activities include:

  • Monthly workshops that provide information on Etiquette, Economic and Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, Political Awareness and Involvement and Rites of Passage
  • Community service project—the debutantes work as a group to choose, develop and implement the project
  • Waltz practice
